Galen Saturley was born in Oregon and raised in Iowa. He began his photographic career at age twelve, inspired by the natural beauty he saw while traveling in the Pacific Northwest. After experimenting briefly with filmmaking as a student, he turned to still photography as his full time pursuit. Drawn then to the Atlantic Coast, he moved to New England in 2001, where he became involved with Blue Tree, LLC. Saturley's tight compositions, shot primarily with a square-format Hasselblad, yield iconic images. When he's not traveling, Saturley makes his home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. |
