Bios
Kimberly Alexander, Ph.D., brings years of museum, research, teaching, and writing experience to her position as chief curator at Strawbery Banke Museum. A resident of Newmarket, New Hampshire, where she lives with her husband, Dane, and daughters Lydia and Abbie, she finds the seacoast a constant source of inspiration.
Jamie LaFleur is a painter, gallery owner, and independent curator who has worked professionally in the fine arts field for nearly twenty years. LaFleur has focused his career on paintings of and the history of painting in his native state of New Hampshire.

Painting Portsmouth: A Brush with the Past provides a unique opportunity to explore how several generations of painters, from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, envisioned this prominent seacoast city. Our goal is to introduce visitors to an exhibition of significant Portsmouth paintings drawn from private collections, art galleries, public institutions, and auction houses, which have been rarely, if ever, seen and are little known to the public or to many within the art community.
